Top 5 Wednesday – Top Anticipated Releases of 2015

It’s the first Top 5 Wednesday of 2015! So logically, the chosen topic was about 2015’s anticipated releases! This year is the first year I have looked at anticipated releases, as I often read books after they have been released, but now I am incredibly excited for a few books that are coming out this year. I have already posted about all of the releases I am anticipating here, but now to narrow them down to 5! Remember to check out the Top 5 Wednesday Goodreads page and complete list of members, as well as the creator Lainey’s YouTube Channel!

5. ‘The Darkest Part of the Forest’ by Holly Black

ol

Not long to wait for this one. It’s released on 13th January, and it is another fae book. I love Holly Black’s writing, and I have started ‘Tithe’ (another one of her fae books), which I think is not her best book, so I am excited to see how this one weighs up. I’ve set myself a target of reading 8 faerie books this year anyway, so this would be a good start. The synopsis sounds brilliant and I will hopefully be able to buy this soon.

4. ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ by Sarah J. Maas

acourtof

I love Sarah J. Maas’s writing. Her ‘Throne of Glass’ series has become one of my all-time favourites (spoiler for later on in this chart) and I would probably read anything she comes out with. This mix of faerie lore and Beauty and the Beast sounds right up my street, so fingers crossed that it doesn’t disappoint when it releases on 5th May.

3. ‘Homecoming’ by Kass Morgan

homecoming

I’m a fan of ‘The 100’ and ‘Day 21’, and of course I’m waiting for the third book to be released. With a release date of 24th February, this book is one of my most anticipated sequels, although I am alarmed by how it has only taken 6 months between books 2 and 3. Nonetheless, I preordered ‘Day 21‘ and I think that I might do the same with ‘Homecoming’.

2. ‘The Copper Gauntlet’ by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

The second book to ‘The Iron Trial’, I am very excited to continue the ‘Magisterium’ series. I loved how the first book ended and I have been keen to read this one since the second I put the first down. Holly Black (who is already at number 5 on this list) and Cassandra Clare (who would have been in this place alone had ‘Lady Midnight’ not been pushed to 2016) are two authors I am very fond of, and even though there is no cover and the specific date is not yet announced (although I would assume September), I cannot wait.

1. ‘Untitled Throne of Glass Book #4’ by Sarah J. Maas

It still doesn’t have a name! Or a cover! And I can’t even believe that the release date will stay 10th September. None of these aspects stop me waiting desperately for this book. I am so invested in this series, and I have not been this excited for a book since ‘City of Heavenly Fire’ by Cassandra Clare in May of last year, and then J.K. Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ before that. Basically, I very rarely get this excited for book releases, but it is becoming painful not knowing anything about this book, and I need it. Now.

That brings to a close the five books that I need in my life right now, but unfortunately may not be for a very long time (or at least too long for me with my impatience). Join me in my impatience and mention in the comments some books that you cannot wait to see on the shelves!
